Amazing Experiences and Unforgettable Memories

I had the most extraordinary time in Europe. I was fortunate enough to take a course, become a certified TEFL teacher, make great friends, travel to amazing places and have priceless memories.

(Anne and I at Piccadilly Circus, London)

(Nic and I at Las Ramblas, Barcelona)

(BJ and I at Parc Guell, Barcelona)

I would not have changed my experience for the world and I would love to go back someday and revisit the places I have been, visit the friends I have made and explore new cities.

(The whole TEFL crew)

(Lany and I going to Pompeii, Italy)

(Orly and I at a club in Madrid, Spain)

I learned a lot about myself  during my almost 4 month time in Europe and I believe I am a better person because of my knowledge and experiences.  I overcame many hardships that I never knew I could do, and realized anything is possible.

(Marc, me, Anne and Justin at the Louvre, Paris)

(Javi and I at Monserrat Castle, Barcelona)

(Nic and I at our apartment, Barcelona)

I am proud of myself for traveling to so many places by myself and actually never getting completely lost! For all the cities and airports I have been through, I am no longer afraid to fly and have become an expert at navigating a new city.

(Clara, me, Stacee and Nic at the Arc de Triomphe, Paris)

I had the chance to work on my Spanish and time to test my faith. I did not make huge progress in my Spanish, but  I got deeper into my faith and I could not have done the trip without doing so.  While it was the most amazing trip ever, it also tested me as a person.

(Telmo, Nic and Claudio at Porto, Portugal)

(Nic and I at Ovella Negra, Barcelona)

(Nic, Clara, Stacee and I at Chupitos, Barcelona)

I am so proud of myself for overcoming many obstacles and learning so much about different cultures. I have made lifelong friends and memories.

Scooters, Scooters EVERYWHERE!!

We arrived in Ho Chi Minh and what a drastic change it was from Siem Reap. There were so many people, cars and motorbikes. I really enjoyed and laid back feel of Siem Reap; now time for a busy city. We grabbed a taxi and headed to District 1. Our hostel was located right in the middle of the restaurant and bar district. Once we dropped our bags off at the hostel we walked down the main street and grabbed a coffee at a local egg coffe shop. After the Vietnam War there was a shortage of milk, so the Vietnamese started using egg in their coffee. It was delicious! It was a creamy, frothy texture and did not taste like egg. It came to be a favorite coffee place; even for Amber who is a tea-aholic! For dinner we went to a Pho soup place- it was savory and very filling. I am still going strong on my soup kick. When continued to explore District 1 and grabbed a few drinks before calling it a night. The next day we wandered around the local market; you could literally buy anything y...

First Stop of the Southeast Asia Tour- Singapore

I have always been interested in Southeast Asia, but never thought I would have the chance to go. I went to Europe on my own, but I felt this trip I needed some travel buddies. When I first met Gina in Hawaii she mentioned going to Thailand after the assignment. Well, that interest is becoming a reality. Gina, Amber and myself are doing a trip through Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos and Thailand. Amber is a fellow travel nurse that also has a passion, for well, travel. Getting to Singapore was a daunting thought- 24 hours on a plane. But it actually was not that bad, All Nippon Airways was great! They had comfy seating, excellent entertainment, surprisely good food and very nice flight attendants. Burger patty, rice, carrots; salad; noodle soup; antipasto; spinach and chicken salad; vanilla ice cream I landed in Singapore around 11:30pm, so I decided to just grab a hotel and shower and get some rest. It was a very charming hotel, that was previously an Opera H...

Ciao from the city of canals and hidden streets!

August 7, 2015 Venice- It was an obstacle to get to you! From Paris we walked to the metro, took the metro to the bus, took the bus to the airport, took a plane to Venice airport, took a bus to the city centre and then walked to our accommodation.   When we arrived it was very very warm, 95 degrees! Such a change from chilly, damp Dublin. We had a bit of a journey finding our next AirBnB place; something I didn't know was the streets on Googlemaps don't really match what is truly here. So we wondered around for a while until we had to ask for help. We stopped at this very nice hotel and the staff there were amazing. They helped us call the owner of the apartment we were staying at and walked with us to ensure we got there safely. This local man working at the hotel did not have an idea where the apartment was, so it took awhile, but we found it! We probably would not have found it without his help. When we arrived at the apartment, it wasn't exactly what w...
