- Off to our next stop! London!! Dublin was fun but a bit chilly. We are ready for some warmer weather, since that is the majority of the clothing we brought. aka getting tired of wearing leggings and matching jean jackets.... We got lucky while in Dublin and did not run into much rain or sad Irish weather, mostly full sunshine with a cool breeze.

For our last night in Dublin we decided to go out with a girl we met in the hostel who was very interesting but was by herself and gave off hints that she did not wait to be alone, so why not make a new friend. Catalina is from Chile and is traveling throughout Europe for the next 4 months and then going to Asia for 6-8 months. She is thirty years old and doesn't seem to have a strong family connection and strangely would not tell us what she did back in Chile to gain all this traveling money, like I said she was interesting... I dont know how she is doing it be herself and with only a backpack. Oh well! Best of luck to our new friend!

Temple Bar

We went out in Temple Bar becuase of the great live music, and it was right down the street from our hostel, therefore, it was extremely loud and brought a fun group of people around. There was a 'stag' party from England while we were out enjoying the bar scene, who were very friendly and we grabbed a drink with them. They told us more about the culture and if Dublin was what it was all it was cracked up to be and according them they aren't the biggest fans. I can personally say for my bachelorette party I do not want to be called a 'hen' as in the new bride nor would I imagine my fiance wanting to be called a 'stag'. It is interesting how slang is so different from country to country but its greats to immerse in all the different cultures. . Hopefully the hostel in London is bigger than the one in Dublin and it won't feel like we are living on top of each other, but overall the experience has been wonderful and would be a great place to visit with friends and family because it is family friendly during the day and greatly entertaining at night! Cheerio!

-London is wayyyy warmer than Dublin. Thank gosh! We ran into a little trouble with Ryainair- what a surprise! But other than that we were able to check into the hostel and everything went smoothly. The hostel here is much much bigger, also more people in our room-16 ppl! It is located right near the Underground which is also very convenient.

Buckingham Palace- the Queen was out unfortunately

Kennedy's Fish and Chip- local place and it was DELICIOUS and HUGE!!

We met a very nice Brazilian last night in our hostel who is named Eticarlos and he was in London taking an English course. Sadly he did not have the chance to explore London and was uncertain about walking around by himself. He had been here for 2 weeks and had not ventured out to see any of the sights, so we decided to invite him on the walking tour with us the next morning. He was a bit shy and uncomfortable but he was excited to see the city and was very thankful to have the opportunity to explore.  We walked around all day long; from Buckinghang Palace to Tower Bridge-- about 11 miles. Afterward we went to a little place for pizza next to the hostel, which was cheap yet delicious! We also met a very nice brother and sister who were traveling together, they are from New Jersey. Ernie and Jaycee were a lot of fun to hang out with at night in the stinky hostel common room. We made due! :)

-Traveling back in time and meeting the Queen today! Well, not really, we did go to her residence at Windsor Castle for a day tour. And then we headed to Stonehenge. It was a surreal sight, something that was constructed 3000bc. After seeing the stones we went to the quaint town of Bath, it was beautiful with 79ad Roman Baths and a beautiful abbey. It was fun walking around for awhile and experiencing small town England, compared to London. Once we got back we wanted to get a drink and dinner in Soho. It is a jazzy area and we enjoyed a nice Italian dinner with a bottle of wine to finish off our last night in London!

During the tour the guide was very clear that if you were late getting back to the bus you would be left...... well that happened to the Asian family sitting next to us. Their bags were there the rest of the trip, but not them..... yikes!

The escalators are CRAZY steep for the Underground.

Next up PARIS!!!!!!!

Rome, Naples, Pompeii OH MY!

My course has been completed and I decided I needed to get out of Barcelona for a bit, and on top of my list was Rome.  I decided to take a 3 night, 4-day trip by myself to discover the ancient city. After traveling to London and with everything that I would have done differently, I now know how to pack and travel lightly.  I know how the airport functions and that I do not need to be there 2 hours before, like O’Hare.  So everything went smoothly on my trip to Rome.  No glitches!  That was feat and I was so happy about it. So I arrived in Rome on Monday, September 3 @ 10am.  I made it to my hostel and everything went smoothly.  I decided I wanted to go see the Colosseum first since it was nice out and I would be mainly outside when I was touring it.  It was OUTSTANDING.  I cannot believe that I was walking around the inside of the Colosseum.  Only about 30% of the building remains, meaning that this was a HUGE buildi...

Lord grant me patience.

How long can you wait until you can’t wait any longer?   I am at that breaking point.   I have the feeling of dread pulling me one way in my current lifestyle and the feeling of excitement and anticipation pulling me the other way.   As July comes near nervousness is thrown in the mixture.   Soon even I will not be able to recognize my own life, things are under major reconstruction. The REAL beginning of my year in Barcelona

Saying good-bye to Anne in London was very difficult, we had had such an amazing weekend and I did not want to go back to Barcelona.  The flight went smoothly, I knew not to make the same mistake with trying to get on Ryanair with two bags; I just checked it right away.  I then took the Aerobus back to the city center and grabbed a cab to the new apartment.  The apartment was not exactly what I was imagining or predicted; it was quite a distance away from the city and it was a host situation. Maria was the host, meaning we lived with her and not that she was just the landlord.  At first I thought it was not at all the situation I wanted and that I wanted my own apartment to have freedom to do whatever.  Well I was proven wrong when I was in Barcelona for four nights by myself; Maria turned out to be a great friend and kept me sane.  It was a blessing to have someone around that could help me get around the city and to talk to.  Maria does not kno...
