I Don't Want to Grow Up

Graduation... It's a weird time.  This past weekend was my brother's graduation from the University of Iowa.  He graduated with the same degree and in the same building at the same time.  It was a deja-vu feeling, walking down the stairs in my black gown and cap surrounded by my friends.  It was a very different perspective to be sitting amongst the parents, grandparents and siblings.  To this day it feels like I should have not graduated yet, much less my brother.  It was a great weekend overall, going to my favorite college bar, Brothers and Spoco, favorite restaurant, Mickey's Grill and seeing some of my favorite people! Iowa City you have been great and I will always cherish the memories made there and the many more to come.  Iowa City will always have a soft spot in the heart.

No Day Is Ever The Same

Yesterday was an "AH HA..." eye-opening kind of day.  Recently I have hold my office that I was completely throwing my life upside-down and moving to Barcelona, Spain to teach as a TEFL teacher. I am going to be moving to a different country, knowing no ones, no having a job, being unfamiliar with the language and am completely enthralled by it! I have never don something to this extreme before; sure moving out of the state to go to college, going on trips with just friends, moving downtown Chicago after college; but nowhere near the intensity of being completely and utterly by myself.  I believe I am at a point in my life where I am looking for experiences that only come to people who make an effort to find them. Which brings me to the part of my life which I am aiming to change.  I have been counting the days and hours left in the work day until I get to begin on this new adventure which I will soon be calling life.  I do not want to live yearning for tomo...

Lord grant me patience.

How long can you wait until you can’t wait any longer?   I am at that breaking point.   I have the feeling of dread pulling me one way in my current lifestyle and the feeling of excitement and anticipation pulling me the other way.   As July comes near nervousness is thrown in the mixture.   Soon even I will not be able to recognize my own life, things are under major reconstruction.
