Back to the Motherland and then back to America!!!

August 16, 2015. Our last full day in Europe- it is bitter sweet. We slept in a bit and then went out exploring Dublin a bit more. Stopped at a few pubs and went to an area of the city we had not seen yet. Our hostel looked like a barracks.....   .... so for privacy we hung our towels up.. no one likes waking up to someone staring at you.     All of the pubs have outside seating, its entertaining to people watch.   I think the second time around we loved Dublin a lot more. When we first arrived we were very jet-lagged and I was not feeling so well. This time we enjoyed the atmosphere and everything the city has to offer much more! Very talented musicians. And this song especially is very important to us <3     We had an amazing time in every city we went. THANK YOU EUROPE! <3

Land of sangria and paella!

August 12, 2015. BARCELONA! We had a very early flight this am and got little to no sleep. We arrived in Barcelona around 10am and were on the search for our last Airbnb apartment accomodations. Hopefully it will be better than Venice! Luckily, I know the city pretty well from being here 3 years ago and we did not have a problem whatsoever finding the apartment. It is a cute 2 bedroom apartment, 6th floor, located in the gothic/raval area of downtown Barcelona. It is right in the thick of everything with a great view of the plaza. We were very relieved to see it was a great apartment. Our bedroom, a full bed!!!   Tiniest elevator- had to open and shut the doors manually. Harbor at Barcelona We decided we needed a nap after the flight and having no sleep from our last night in Rome. After we were refreshed from our nap it was time to explore. Mercat de San Joseph   We walked around Las Ramblas; which is the main street with many shops, rest...

Pizza and Gelato... every day.....

August 9, 2015 We made it safely to Rome after taking a 3 hour train from Venice. I booked a hostel I have stayed at before, so luckily it was not hard to find again. We were able to check in, throw our bags down and start wandering around to discover the history of Rome! Colosseum       First up, obviously, the Colosseum! The sheer size, history and magnificance of this building is mindblowing. We did not have to stand in a long line to enter or get a headset to listen about the history and structure of the building, which was a blessing since this area is a tourist hotspot. It is hard to wrap your mind around how Romans, from that timeframe, were able to build such a large building with minimal machinery... if any at all. After walking around the Colosseum, we explored the Roman Forum. The Roman Forum is where the Roman family of the time lived- kinda like their style of palace. This is where the Romans would practice for chariot races and t...

Ciao from the city of canals and hidden streets!

August 7, 2015 Venice- It was an obstacle to get to you! From Paris we walked to the metro, took the metro to the bus, took the bus to the airport, took a plane to Venice airport, took a bus to the city centre and then walked to our accommodation.   When we arrived it was very very warm, 95 degrees! Such a change from chilly, damp Dublin. We had a bit of a journey finding our next AirBnB place; something I didn't know was the streets on Googlemaps don't really match what is truly here. So we wondered around for a while until we had to ask for help. We stopped at this very nice hotel and the staff there were amazing. They helped us call the owner of the apartment we were staying at and walked with us to ensure we got there safely. This local man working at the hotel did not have an idea where the apartment was, so it took awhile, but we found it! We probably would not have found it without his help. When we arrived at the apartment, it wasn't exactly what w...
